De "realms of existence " corresponderen met de verscheidene Jhana's (meditatiestadia/niveaus) die men kan bereiken. Op het moment dat men de eerste jhana bereikt is op de geest op dat moment zo zuiver dat als men zal sterven men wedergeboren zal worden in een van de  volgende "realms":

• 2 Entourage of Brahma
  
• 1 Family of Brahma  36.86 quintillion years lifespan
  

Men ontwikkelt de jhanas op natuurlijke wijze als men nauwgezet de instructies van de boeddha volgt.
